Kansas Municipal Energy Agency (KMEA) purchased 3 each Siemens SGT-400, 15MW combustion turbine generators for installation at their new Jameson Energy Center Greenfield powerplant. ECA participated as a subcontractor on the EPC project to build a substation and generation facility for the 3 combustion turbines. ECA was responsible for the installation of MV and LV switchgear and transformers furnished by others, to perform field wiring to construct 3 Siemens-furnished gas turbines, and to perform electrical construction integrating the power & controls for all of the balance of plant: gas pressure reducing equipment, gas filter/heater skid, central compressed air facility, balance of plant (BOP) building, BOP controls, standby & black-start diesel genset, site utilities, and substation controls and DC power integration. The project was completed on a highly accelerated schedule to meet summer peak power needs.
